Every year, Olympic Day celebrates something bigger than sport – it highlights how movement can build confidence, create connections and support wellbeing. In 2026, the focus is on helping young people overcome self-doubt and take the first step towards getting active.
That is where Let’s Move comes in.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) initiative, launched in 2023, encourages people everywhere to get active through sport and everyday movement.
This year’s campaign message is ‘You Can Do This’ – a reminder to young people to trust themselves, start imperfectly and discover the confidence that movement can create.

Held each year on 23 June to mark the birth of the modern Olympic Games, Olympic Day invites everyone to get moving in whatever way works for them.
For many, that first step could be badminton. You do not need experience or perfect technique – just pick up a racket and give it a try. One rally can quickly turn into a fun, social activity that helps build fitness and confidence.
Badminton is fast-paced, accessible and suitable for all ages and abilities. From AirBadminton to club matches and initiatives such as BWF’s Shuttle Time Seniors event, there are many ways to get involved and enjoy the benefits of staying active while connecting with others.
The Let’s Move campaign extends beyond Olympic Day, encouraging regular movement throughout the year and showing how sport can support physical, mental and social wellbeing.
